“When using an orchestral library my first goal is in achieving 'realistic results'. When the award, ‘Best Original Score' was given for this film at 2005 Hollywood DV Festival, the Chairman's only question was, 'given the low budget of this film, how was it that you were able to hire and use a REAL orchestra!'
This of course is the biggest compliment that could be given.
I ordered "Epic Horns" and "Chamber Strings" just for this project. As it turns out, it was the most important decision I made. Both libraries are featured prominently in many of the cues throughout the film. The 'warmth' and playability of the Epic Horns library was key in capturing the melodic duties of the Main Theme. The new "short staccs" Chamber Strings were the foundation of the edgier fight scenes.
Thanks to VSL for all the hard work - I am looking forward to receiving my copy of Vienna Instruments - Symphonic Cube.”
