Piano lessons from the age of four. Graduation from high school and journeyman carpenter’s exam, a year of instrument making. University studies in philosophy, majoring in esthetics (currently working on thesis). Teacher training (teaching of instruments and singing), main area of interest “keyboard instruments in popular music” => passed with distinction.
Freelance musician (work for movies, advertisements, Austrian TV etc.). Composer, producer and musician, singer on pop productions (most recently Paul Pluesh “Extramusic”). At the same time regular live gigs in Vienna’s electronic music scene, with Tripbox; Café Drechsler and visiting artistes such as Jamalaadan Tacuma, Craig Handy etc.

Marnix Veenenbos

Being born in Vienna in 1963, the dutchman Marnix Veenenbos studied drums and percussion at the conservatory in Vienna as well as at the American Institute of Music. Besides being an active Live and session drummer, he ran the Austrophon Studio in the Vienna Konzerthaus and was partner of Matterhorn Productions. In 1987, he started as composer and musician for theater for artists such as M. Schottenberg, E. Pauer, J. Pölsler and G. Herrnstatt. With his partner Walter W. Cikan, he has composed and produced music scores for movies from directors like G. Spielmann, P. Danquart, B. Gräftner, V. Hitz, Samir and many more. He has his own music production company with a recording studio.

Maya has been working for the Vienna Symphonic Library since its foundation in 2001. Before that she recorded famous Viennese musicians and choirs for various projects, and made sound design for films and other Multimedia projects. She is a graduate of
Austria's well-known Tonmeister programme (MFA in music technology), a 5 years music engineering programme at the university of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, with additional courses in Computer Science, Musicology and is in the process of finishing her Msc studies in Innovation- and Technology Management at the university for applied sciences
Vienna. Her main tasks at the Vienna Symphonic Library currently are production engineering and technical/musical customer support.
On the Vienna Symphonic Library: I´ve never enjoyed working anywhere so much as here (partly because the boss is such a good cook?!). The project is fantastic! BRAVO!
