Hello,
FIRST QUESTION
I am wondering if it is possible to move "Download Instrument patches" to other folders.
I like the structure of A - Strings, B - Winds, C - Brass, and D - Percussion. And I would like to move all the "Download Instrument patches" to A, B, C, or D, so all the instruments of one type would be in one folder.
For example, I would like to move "01D Piccolo Trumpet", "06D Bass Trumpet", "07D Horn triple", and other brass instruments from "Download Instrument patches" to "C - Brass patches" so brass patches would all be in one place. And I would like to move all the "Percussion+Co" patches from "Download Instrument patches" to "D - Percussion patches" so percussion patches would all be in one place.
SECOND QUESTION
Is it possible to rename a patch? For example, can I rename "07D Horn triple" to "Triple Horn" if I want?
Thank you for any assistance.

Q: To what purpose?
A: It just seems having all the Brass (or Percussion, or whatever) in one place would make finding instruments easier. Doesn't it make more sense to have all the Brass in one place, rather than in several disjointed places?
When you say "No" to the second question, are you speaking for VSL? Are you speaking from experience because you've asked, or because you've tried it?

Hi gdugan2,
I'm afraid that's the historically grown structure, Download Instruments will always be shown as separate instruments and cannot be moved to the bigger collections that are organized in section folders.
You shoudl try the cool search function in the Browser... just type any instrument name and you will see the results.
It is indeed not possible to rename patches, those are the smallest building blocks of the VI Series.

Thanks Paul.
By the way, I love using VSL products, especially VI Pro and MIR 24. The flexibility is just astounding, and make using the samples a treat. Thank you, VSL, for making such great products! :-)
