I've just installed GS 3 as I was still with version 2.5.I have the symphonic cube and the problem is that I see the library folders but clicking on the +  show me only the very first letters of the instruments names....I'm pretty sure I'm missing something.....the instruments load and play perfectly but of course it's unworkable like that.

Thanks

Hi,

you probably licensed the Pro Edition Complete Orchestral Package, the Symphonic Cube comes with the Vienna Instruments....

Did you update your quicksound database?

Maybe it helps to apply the GS3 artfile  updates you find in your user area, you should use this little program to get a fast benefit from the new features in GS 3, that will save you a lot of time.

Best,

OK I installed the art. files , rebuilded data base again and...still the same, I can't see more than the 2 or 3 first letters instrument names.I see the  folders name, if I load an instrument then I see the name in the loaded instrument list....Am I the first one to get this. The data base seems to be complete,no crashes when rebuilding.

Was working perfectly on version 2.5, I did a Fresh XP Pro install on a new drive, then  giga orchestra 3.21.....

Thanks for any idea about that weird problem.

Hi watercolours,

did you contact Tascam yet? After all, it is their program....

Another test could be to do a new installation of one collection... just to see if that changes anything.

I´ll try to think of other methods to check Smile

Best,

Well, I didn't contact Tascam as I have not a good memory about their support service at the time I installed Giga 2 (long time ago), but maybe it's better now.

So sorry to bother you with this it's just that I only use Giga for the old Vienna system collection and thought it was something that already happened before at least to someone here.....I will try reinstalling a bunch of instruments;if it works, it would mean that  all my files (3 hard drives) have been corrupted or something....Anyway I kept my old system drive with Giga 2.5 so I can go back on it for a while.

Thanks a lot for your fast support on this old system. It should always be like that,  but to my experience it's unusual.

Problem solved: I had the wholw window "name/folder/sizeetc..." wide opened and didn't think that I had to move the separation between name and folder to see the instruments names complete....call me idiot for sure, I tried so many things but not that obvious one; anyway the solution came at the right moment as I was on the way to go back to version 2.54.The problem has been solved on "learn giga studio" forum.

Anyway thanks for your help Paul.

BTW tascam support looks like what I had in my memories......
