I've just downloaded the VePro 5 upgrade, which appears to have a MIR demo embedded in it.

Every time I try to launch VePro 5 64 or 32 bit, I get a prompt window:

"Elicenser Control - Message

The License for application 'Vienna MIR' will expire soon.

Duration until expiration: 3 hours 20 minutes 57 seconds

(button) OK"

Clicking OK does NOTHING. I can't even quit out, I have to force quit. I'm not even interested in MIR, so I'd love to not even have it here...

Can someone please help? What am I missing??

Hello drasticmeasures,

This is a bug that can only be resolved by Force Quitting VE PRO 5 via the Activity Monitor.

Sorry about the inconvenience, we´re working on a solution for this enervating bug.

Best,

Paul

So what's the solution for now? Use a previous version?

I just bought this and I'd like to start using it. thanks.

I've tried installing archive versions 5.0.10068 and 5.0.9753. I'm having the same problem with all versions - I can't get past the prompt.

How are others able to use Ve Pro 5? Has everyone rolled back to Version 4???

That message should only appear once in a while unless I'm mistaking. Still rather ugly, but the only solution at this point is upgrading to Lion as the bug only happens on Snow Leopard.

I'm getting it every single time. I cannot use Ve Pro 5. Every. Single. Time.

it happened at least every five starts here, using up one start each time to force-quit. sometimes more frequently.

so a thirty starts was at best 24.

You can re-load the number of demo-starts as often as you want within 30 days. You need the eLicenser Control Center and an internet connection.

I tried it, certainly within thirty days, more like ten days had passed and due to some crashes (Amplitube 3 for instance) 30 starts were used up. elicenser showed a used-up license. Upon reentering the demo license elicenser simply informed me that license had been used already. Is there some other way to re-up the demo?

edit: moot point for me, I got enough experience to realize I don't have enough resources to sequence and mix with MIR, I would have to devote a whole third machine for the purpose, but for the record, for the others...

Hello,

The demo licenses work for 30 days/30 starts.

Once the 30 starts are used up, you can recharge them as often as you like by clicking "Maintenance" in the eLicenser Control Center (within 30 days).

The elicenser bug happened to me today mid project!  VePro 5 wil not open on my computer no matter how many times I quit in the Acitvity Monitor...NO INTEREST IN MIR. Thankfully I took your advice and can open VePro5 with the Mir Demo license.  Please get this fixed soon! Thanks.
