Is it possible to use a single instance of VEP 5 to host Solo Strings and Kontakt 5?  I want to use Kontakt 5 to host timpani, bass drum, and cymbals.  I'm trying to use the Event Input plugin to target Kontakt.  If it's possible, how do I go about doing it?

Hi ghostrat,

Yes, of course that´s possible. Simply insert Vienna Instruments Solo Strings in Vienna Instruments and assign the MIDI Channels and MIDI Port, then add Kontakt and set it to OMNI to receive MIDI as a multi-timbral instrument.

Best,

Thank you for your reply.  I think where I was going wrong was having the ports for Solo Strings set to omni.

I think I'm overlooking this in the documentation.  Can you direct me to where it might be?  Maybe some keywords I can search in the pdf?

Thank you again!

Hi,

Yes, check out the Chapter "Channel Overview" and "Multi-timbral Plug-ins in VE PRO".

Best,
Paul
