I am running VE Pro on a Mac Pro 2008 / Logic X and have 4 x PC Servers (all new Xeon E3 (4 cores) / 32GB SSD's)  that are housing mainly Orchestral Samples. I am running multitimbrel instances of Orchestral groupings within VE Pro.

My issue is that when I've loaded a template in Logic, the latency of my machine is 256 and when I set the buffers of VE Pro i set them to 4. However, when I play something else, the displayed buffer on the VE Pro server interface jumps to 8192 samples and I am wondering why as this is having affects on timings and the snappiness of the machine. When i record, the VE Pro interface displays the correct buffer size (4 buffers =1024) and records fine in time but when I change tracks, the latency for that track jumps 8 times upto 8192 and timing issues occur.

Is there a limit on template sizes you can realistically run on VE Pro in Logic X in regards to track counts? I'd really appreciate any advice on how to overcome this.

Are you sure that you're not into running in Process buffer issues?
