Hey All

Setting up my new system. 1 Host/2 Slaves (All Mac Towers 10.10.5, all have identical software VI/VE Pro)

Using DHCP with manual address Host and Slaves are 10.225.225.1/2/3 consecutively.

My Host (Pro Tools) will only handshake with only one slave at a time

Slave2 (10.225.225.2) or Slave3 (10.225.225.3).  Any reason that both aren't

working simultaneously

Sincerely

Hi,

That's a strange network, any reason why you would not go with the standard user networks 10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x?

Best,
Paul

I'm replicating what you had told a customer to input in their manual DCHP from a previous post.

Any ideas Paul?

Hi,

I'm afraid I can't recall suggesting such a network ever.  Please try with 192.168.0.x or 10.0.0.x.

Paul

So I have changed

Host : Ethernet 1 = 192.168.2.1 Ethernet 2 = 192.168.3.1 (Static by manual entry)

Slave 1/Ehternet 1 = 192.168.2.2

Slave 2/Ethernet 2 = 192.168.3.2

Slave 1 is working fine (connected to ethernet ports 1 on both machines) VE Pro recognizes it in my daw and

gives me the option for opening (existing, new, etc)

Slave 2 (connected to ethernet ports 2 of both machines)  is not working - (it does ping) I can manually open it in my daw by manually putting in 192.168.3.2 in the Server window, but won't recognize any existing instances I've loaded it only provides a new instance - uuugggh -

I even tried disconnecting Slave 1 and turning of Wi-Fi on my host JIC, but to no avail.

Thanks so much for any guidance - I'm losing it

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have a double-port Mac Pro here to check, but I'd try to assign the same network to both ports, e.g.: 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.3, both with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

The other option is to use a router and connect your computers this way.

Best,
Paul
