Hi, despite plenty of rescans, my SINE player is nowhere to be found in VE 7 (edit: VE Pro 7). I tried to look for pointers in this forum, but haven't been able to find anything more recent. Anyrecommendations? What could I do? Thanks a bunch!! Stefan

Solved: SINE VST files need to be installed in the default location (C:\Program Files\Vstplugins) to be found by VE.
Custom location will *not* work for some reason.

Hi KompoB,
Thank you for the update. Are you referring to VST2 or VST3 as the posting title say? Because VST3 does have a fix position on Windows... Also kindly note that Vienna Ensemble 7 (or in short "VE 7") does NOT support 3rd party plugins. Only Vienna Ensemble PRO 7 does.

You're right. I was referring to VEP (not VE) and the VST2 Version of SINE. My bad.
In fact, the VST3 version of SINE is still not found by VEP. Where would I have to put that file for VEP to find it? And what's the advantage of using the VST3 version instead of the VST2 one?

Hi!
On Windows, your host must be aware of the folder you chose for VST2 plugins during the installation.
VST3 is a bit different - it does have a fixed location:
System C > Program Files > Common Files > VST3
Installers usually only offer to make a custom selection for VST2. The Sine Player seems to be an exception here, as it allows you to freely choose a location for VST3. I assume you choose a folder VE Pro does not know about.
The default VST3 folder above is scanned automatically - but not if you make a custom selection.
(The same might be true for your previous VST2 issue)
