  • Playing 24 bit samples through a laptop's sound chip?

Pondering options, and this curiosity came to me - would there be any hitch in playing back 24 bit VI powered samples out of the no doubt less than 24 bit built in sound chip of a laptop? This isn't for final production, but simply to be able to compose on the go.

    Thanks

  • In general, this should pose no problems. Many older built-in sound-chips resample everything to 48 kHz / 16 bit anyway, no matter what the original source's format has been. The problem _could_ be a pretty high latency, though.
