  • More memory for less pops and clicks?

I would like to know if the pops and clicks that I hear when I use VI with Prologic can stop if I put more memory in my computer Mac.
    My computer is:
    PowerMac G5 with 2 processors 1,8 GHz
    Model PowerMac 7,3
    2GB of memory
    L2 cache: 512 kb

I don't hear the pops and clicks when I use VI alone, just when I use VI and Prologic together.

    Thank you very much

  • I went from 3 gigs to 4.5 and I still get pops on a Dual 2ghz G5.

Sorry but the solution appears to be not quite so easy to solve. I do suspect that maybe a considerably faster processor might improve things....but I'm not sure.

  • of course regarding memory and processor it is somehow true that *much helps much*, but in general you should be more specific and include how much you are trying to load, from what drives with which audio interface and what else is possibly running.

during the past days the old known issue with firewire drives and firewire audio devices chained on one bus came up frequently so i'd ask you to tell us more than *does not work* - eg: what is prologic? i'd assume it is not http://www.prologic.de/ and no dolby pro logic encoder

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • I would say that Prologic is Logic Pro.
