  • Blending appassionata

What library would you recommend I blend with appassionata for a lush string section? Chamber or Solo?

Hard to decide, because chamber seems to add something I'm not hearing that well.

The other options is blending a different texture from the Orch II library.

  • A little bit of guesswork on my part Nathan, as I don't have the AP strings yet. But I have found that Chamber and Orchestral Strings blend very nicely. The Solo Strings I might add if I want some extra 'zing' but I would imagine they might stick out a bit too much against a full AP section.

I've also found Chamber Strings to be my most-used package in the entire Cube. They are jjust great on pop stuff and ace for Nat King Cole-style jazz ballads, as well as the expected Baroque settings.

The Solo Strings are very nice and have come in extremey handy too though...sorry! [:D]

I'm not sure but i seem to remember Jay Bacal saying he liked to layer the solo strings with the AP strings. Maybe you could PM him to be sure.

I agree about that chamber strings too, and they are now on sale.

  • I've learned that using the vel4 patch ALONE is the best way to get what I was looking for. Thanks for the responses!
