I'm using a Mac OSX 10.3.9 with K2/Opus1+2. I've had to reinstall some stuff, and now the Cello Ensemble programs are goofed up - the legato and portamento scripts seem to be missing.
I've tried to download what I think are the right updates (I'm not certain), but they're .exe and won't open on my Mac. I don't have access to a PC to download and un-archive them and burn a cd.

What do I do?

I've begun reorganizing my template, and I've discovered that I've lost or forgotton this.

Many thanks,

Robert

have you downloaded the kontakt 2 programs?
and in the line above the downloads it says
Quote:
After download you need to extract the programs.
Under Windows just double-click the .exe files, under MacOS please use UnRarX.

Thank you for the information, Christian. My eyes skipped over that part.

I've downloaded "Opus1Kontakt1.5.3_V6f.exe", "Opus2KontaktV1.exe", and "HO_Opus1_Update_KON2_6p.exe". I then intstalled them in that order, and rebuilt the DB, with all options checked (all drives, Multis, Samples, etc). I still have problems with "VC-8_mV_perf-leg_f+SB.nki" and "VC-8_mV_perf-leg_f_porta+SB.nki", and perhaps others, but I'm only using those two for the time being.

There is no script in those presets. Also, the legato script for "VI-14_perf-leg_f+SB.nki" was missing, but I imported a script form the "VI-14_perf-leg_f_porta+SB.nki" and it now works fine.

How do I get a script that works for the Cello Ens?

considering the filenames i'd say you've downloaded the programs for kontakt 1.5.x instead of the kontakt 2 programs ....

Mercy - Strike two for me! I guess I take the prize for dumbest user of the month! Don't answer that...
You were right of course, and now everything is working nicely.

Thanks Christian,
Robert

If you mean the performance tool, then no you don't need it. The only thing you can't do with the K2 performance scripts is to program a longer sequence of alternations between different alternations. But I don't know how useful that is anyway and you can do the same thing using keyswitches.

Thanks nLiberg, i was talking about preset tool which can be found in the user download area. It's probably not useful for K2 user i guess?

joe, there is no preset tool - you are referring either to the performance tool or tool presets and i'd like to point you also to the formats & performance tool section in the user area.
my feeling is that it would be more straight forward to use KONTAKT 2's script abilities to alternate samples than to mess around with the midi routing needed for using the alternation mode of the performance tool.

Thanks cm, i get it now! I'll use K2 for that.

BTW, how do you copy a script. One of them is missing and would like to copy it from an other instrument where it's working but i need a password?

It's not really a big deal since the sustenuto blend version of that instruments works and i will mostly use that one but still?

Thanks!

You don't need the password to copy it. Just save the script as a script preset (choose 'Save as...' from the script menu) and load it on the other instrument (you might have to restart Kontakt for the saved script preset to show up in the script menu).
