    Good heavens: that is fantastic! Thank you.

    There's an absolute wealth of real music on YouTube if only you search for the actual artist.

    My favourite is a very rare performance by Alfred Cortot of "Der Dichter spricht" from Schumann's "Kinderscenen" - marvellous.



    Just give it 40 seconds to get into the actual music itself...

    Or try for (e.g.) Earl Wild, Horowitz, Tauber, del Monaco, Ponselle, Solomon...

    The list is endless.

    That's interesting how good Shostakovich was as a pianist. Also, I don't understand French, but Cortot's face seems to express so much you almost don't have to in order to know what he is saying about the music. Being a Schumann disciple, that is great to see.

    Pretty dark clip, when he sits at the piano, reminds me of an old black and white dracula picture. I think the students in the back are witnessing their last recital, little they know.... [6] [6] [6]
