MASSIVE volume output then dead!?!

Hi,

VSL has been working fine. I started a new project this evening and it freaked!

I had some other instruments open and playing (Halion 1, HQ Orchestral) I then loaded up the Bosendorfer started to play some notes and it blasted some weird feedback and then the piano wouldn't sound. Also the levels on the main out were right up in the red but no sound was coming out (nor thru my soundcard control panel) I also tried with a solo violin patch and it did exactly the same!?!?!

I'm using Windows XP Professional, Delta 66 soundcard, Cubase sx 4. I have 4 gig of memory and a quadcore machine.

Could it be the mix of VSL and other instruments?

I'm at a loss here and actually feel slightly sick cos I've got a work load to get on with [:(]

Um, probably a silly question, but can you get any sound at all from your soundcard? I'm just wondering if the feedback blew something on the hardware side of your rig.
