  • Translate Perf set to K2?

Did anyone managed to translate the Performance set from GIGA to K2? I'd really like to know if it's possible?

Also, are there any perf detacher in there for the VI_14?

    Thank you.

  • One more thing. Will the perf tool work with K2 as well?

  • Hi Joe,

as far as I know, it has been tried - however, the attempts were unsuccessful ... I believe that the money you could earn in the time it takes to convert the Giga Performances to K2 would be quite enough to buy a few VIs [[;)]]

There are no perf-détachés for the violin ensemble.

I'm not a K2 user myself, but of course it works with the PerfTool. As far as I know, there's also some built-in performance algorithms. (If I'm wrong, I hope a K2 user will correct me. [:O]ops: )

    Kind regards,

you might want to read also through the Formats & Performance Tool section - kontakt 1.5.x works with the perftool (although midi routing is a mess) and kontakt 2.x can use scripts.
however to re-map the instruments and create the scripts is an awful work, so it has never been done for the pro edition performance set.

you could try to apply the legato scripts from a horizon program to the imported pro edition instruments ... but i'd assume, as david mentioned, it is not worth spending the time you need to get them work properly

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks for the help guys.

''you could try to apply the legato scripts from a horizon program to the imported pro edition instruments ...''

That's what i was thinking. Assuming K2 would translate the samples well it could be pretty easy to copy scripts from my Horizons library etc.. And since i have quiet a few now i could get away with a lot. But the problem is K2 is not very good with complex translation. It will do OK with simple instruments, but even then it will create more group than it should so this is where things could get complicated.

I just had to ask cause 250 000+ VSL samples for like $1500(in my case) is quiet a deal. [[;)]]

    Thanks folks! [/quote]

that has been also the (initially underestimated) problem here ... enormous work has been put into the horizon series products (especially solo and opus) and i'd assume i couldn't allow myself to even say the words *pro edition* and *kontakt* in one sentence loud here if any editor is in the room [;)]

    [:D] ..I can imagine.

BTW, i got to tell you i cant even bigging to imagine how much work it represent to record & edit etc.. 1 800 000+ samples. [[:|]] I've been thinking about that a lot lately and i think it's insane. [:D] I'm so very impress with what the VSL team has done. And it's seems to get better with every tittle.

I needed to get this out of my system. [[;)]]

    Thank you very much guys!
