  • Vienna Special Edition in Logic

I am brand new with VI, the demos sure sound great, and I am having issues with Logic (I am using a 2 GHz PowerPC G5 with 1.5 GB ram OX 10.4, Logic 7.0.0 with MOTU 828mk2)
    Some questions:
    1) Do I have to make all my own matrixs?
    2) Are there downloadable generic matrix setups? Can't find any in what I have installed already
    3) The matrix video shows a save button once a matrix is created - there is no such button in the version I have (VI Special Edition) so there appears to be now way to save my matrix other than through logic autoload saves - surely there must be a better way
    4) I need to begin a writing project this week and am concerned that this program is a bit too programmer friendly and less writer friendly - any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Hello and welcome Ed [:)],

you don´t have to create your own matrices, but of course you can!

You will find a lot of "factory" matrices in the Vienna Instruments. Did you check out the Video Tutorial on "Patches & Matrices - an Overview" here? You should see all matrices when you click on "Matrix Assign".
The "Save" Button now looks like a disk, this was changed in v 1.1 of the Vienna Instruments.
I´m curious: What do you see in the "Matrix Assign" window?

    Best,

    Paul

  • Dear Paul,

Thanks for the help - VI SE seems to be working well in Logic now. I built a Logic autoload for an orchestra and am now aking the night off. Will try making music tomorrow.

    Thanks for the quick reply,

    All the best, Ed [[:)]]
