  • New to Vienna SE

I've got the silly start-up questions that I hope you guys don't mind answering. I Don't understand how to set up for mutiple instruments. Do I load multiple instances of VSL SE for each section or can I load up one instance of VSL with different midi tracks and channel #'s?

And I can't find Universal Mode. I watched the tutorial, but do not understand how to load into this mode.

    Thanks..

  • I remember reading this. I dont use DP. I use logic pro. But this should help you get the ball rolling.

  • Hi and welcome Nova [:)],

you will use 1 Vienna instrument for 1 instrument or section, and you will switch between different articulations inside the Vienna instruments.

The Universal Mode is only contained in the Extended Libraries of the "bigger" VI collections. It makes use of more specific articulations (most essentially different legato speeds for different legato articulations).

    Hope that helps.

    Best,

  • Thanks Paul--your reply helps a lot. I really like the Vienna Sound, I'm setting it up to use it for my next composing job. I guess I'm going to have step up to the big leagues to get "Universal" Mode. That looks really cool.

-A suggestion from me would be to incorperate mutiple midi channels. It is a shame to have all those great instruments and articulations sitting there in a Matrix and be only able to access one at a time.

    Thanks again!
