    Is there any logical reason why the First Edition will be no longer available when the Pro Edition comes out? I'm utterly baffled by this, as what can possibly be gained by reducing options for the buying consumer? I really think VSL should continue to offer a Lite Edition like the First Edition, to provide a basic sample-set to users who may not need the full "Pro" set. The Lite Edition would only increase sales and user-base, and no doubt inspire a percentage of the Lite users to upgrade to the Pro set anyway.

    While the Performance sounds quite revolutionary and unique, the Orchestra set may have some tough competition coming out, and it's just silly to only offer users a premium priced full Pro version, without any other "lite" options.

    Just my opinion. I'm extremely impressed with demos so far and simply want more choices in what I can buy.

    Yes, if VSL pull out of the 3k market, they will be providing no competition for EWQLSO. People without 5k to spend will have no option but to move to the competition, and VSL will lose a precious wave of 3k sales.

    Though Herb has stated that missing forte trumpet and trombone legatti and extended string patches will probably be offered as a free upgrade to first version users, it is not even ceratain wether other crutial patches like brass marcatti will be included.

    These issues are crutial to how VSL will continue to build its client base when EWQLSO comes out in four weeks.

    Leon makes a good point. Do I remember correctly that the Pro edition will be available in sections, though? (i.e. you can buy just the pro edition strings for a third of the price if you want...)

    Still, a lite version seems to help software/sample sales regardless of the product from what I've seen.

    The Pro edition will be available in sections too.

    Maybe the First Edition will be continued after the Pro Edition release
    (but without the VIP price option).

    Maybe the first edition will not be discontinued, and somemissing patches will probably be provided as free upgrades.

    I'm afraid it is impossible to make a purchasing decision based on vapour-facts [8-)] . I WANT to buy VSL, but you are making it very difficult for me to know what I'm getting!

    Clear information, sound upgrade policies, and a scaled product range are so crutial to recruiting customers! We are slipping through your fingers!

    I would urge you to make an official announcement regarding what exactly the first edition will include, and whether the first edition will be discontinued.

    Ok, here some facts:

    the first edition includes 160 178 Samples, Datasize 93 Gig,
    The Vip upgrading option for the First Edition will run out when the Pro Edition will be released.
    The First Edition without VIP option will be continued.

    There will be an announcement weeks before here on this site and a neswletter information, when the Pro Edition will be released.

    A free update of selected gigfiles, if you don't want to upgrade is planned.
    The exact database of these upgrade will be also announced in the same news letter information. What I don't know at the moment, if shipping will be for free, because this desicion is up to our distributors.

    One small clarification. I just purchased the Complete Set. How long do I retain my VIP purchasing privileges? That is to say, when Pro Edition is released, how long do I have to purchase the Pro Edition at VIP prices or doesn't my VIP ever expire?

    It's very good news that you will keep the First Edition.

    I am looking forward to know exactly what those selected free gig files will be. In my particular situation, this will be fundamental in my decision between VSL and EWQLSO. I really hope you make the First Edition+free selected gigs an attractive alternative to the complete EWQLSO.

    I would like to make my decision and buy either one or the other as soon as possible after I have heard the EWQLSO demos next month. When can we expect this newsletter?

    I would love to know if you plan on completing the first edition instruments 100%....(will there be any missing articulations?) It would be great to know this before EWQLSO hits the market. That way I can make my choice as soon as possible. Thanks!

    Your VIP option will never expire! Once you have bought the First Edition, you can upgrade at the VIP price, no matter when you choose to buy the Pro Edition.

    if i purchase the 1st edition right now and the pro edition comes out shortly what then is my upgrade option since the vip is discontinued? full price diiference??
