A place for us to upload our modified instruments to. Anything listed can be downloaded. Login using:[code:1:05249f62bc]LOGINID: user

Absolutely no samples may be uploaded. Upload limits are around 2MB. Even the most extensive EXS24 instrument is less than 1.5MB so this should not be a problem.

Until I find a better, cheap ASP based file exchange forum then this is it. If anyone knows of one, let me know and I'll host it.

I've added the following new instruments to the FILE EXCHANGE area:

Fa_Perf-leg_Grace_P+mf+f.exs
EXS 0.8MB
"BASSOON Performance Legato Grace P + MF + F"
At the time the First Edition was released for the EXS, the EXS did not support more than 32 Groups. So only p,p+mf,p+f,mf+f,and f Performance Legato Grace instruments were mapped, but no full instrument with Piano, Mezzo-Forte, and Forte samples. So here it is, now that the EXS24mkII supports more than 32 layers.

Fl2_Perf-leg_Grace_P+mf+f.exs
EXS 0.8MB
"FLUTE2 Performance Legato Grace P + MF + F"
At the time the First Edition was released for the EXS, the EXS did not support more than 32 Groups. So only p,p+mf,p+f,mf+f,and f Performance Legato Grace instruments were mapped, but no full instrument with Piano, Mezzo-Forte, and Forte samples. So here it is, now that the EXS24mkII supports more than 32 layers.

Ho-4_02leg__Fixed.exs
EXS 0.3MB
"HORNS(4) FIXED Performance Legato"
A number of samples were incorrectly mapped in the performance Legato HORNS(4). Mostly minor sixths in the middle range, but also a few others. This instrument has all the correct samples correctly referenced.

Evan,

Thanks for sharing your latest work with us!
I've been wanting to really get down and create some "patches" to contribute but work and other constraints have not allowed me to do so yet.

I'm all for exchanging and will certainly contribute as soon as I can.

Thanks again - Colin

Hi there,

I`m a new VSL Horizon Overdrive User - I hope that there are accepted files from the Overdrive Library too? And I hope to find other Users from this fantastic library here too?

I just uploaded the file:

Eg_Po-chord_Major_Fatdrive.exs

It`s a fat noisy chord sample - I just added a 24db Filter and an amount of drive to boost the low frequencies of the guitar.

Have fun and Cu

i've just uploaded several files to the user file exchange server provided by yasser. they are packed as a zipped archive and include:

- a new articulation tool (logic macro) with the following functions:
1) selection of articulations via keyboard or midi-buttons in a way that the information which articulation is played is encoded in the midi channel of the actual notes. this simplifies the articulation handling and the work with score considerably (thanks to plowman - see the corresponding thread).
2) an alternation mode that works with the above method and is much more intuitive and useable than the vsl-tool. it has only one monophonic sequence which, however, can be "programmed" simply by playing Smile!
3) last but not least, a new function to shape the attack and release phase of the sounds by continuous controllers which allows automatic dynamic transitions without additional samples.

- my complete opus 1 template that runs on a 1.25 gb powerbook and includes all essential instruments and articulations - besides legato instruments. these instruments support all the functions offered by the articulation tool.

- documentation for the whole package

i'm not totally sure, but i think the instruments of the template probably won't work with the pro or first edition (only for the underprivileged ones who can't afford them Wink). however, the tool, should be useful for all vsl/exs users and the instruments of other editions can be adapted (see the docu).

i've documented and uploaded this, since i think the vsl is really great - but as the name says it is a "library". however, what i actually want is an "orchestra" that i can simply load and play. it took me quite some time to get a bit closer to this goal and therefore i want to share the result with other users. i think it makes no sense that everybody who equally cannot cope with vsl's database-style and needs a basic set to start playing has to do all this work again ...

have fun!

kai

p.s.: the tool is not restricted to the vsl and can be used with other libraries, too.

Hi all,

I haven't been able to connect to Yasser's qualitystudio.net so far, so I don't know if the following is relevant or not. Anyway, I was wondering...
What if VSL hardcore users would be willing to disclose some of their own song templates? There are people (like me, but who is not really...) still struggling to get the best configuration possible.
Why not share all this, so we newbies get a hint at what should be done and what should not be?
People would post their .lso file with a clear title, and a brief description saying what library should be used and how. Short MIDI files might even be useful and welcome, if necessary.

What do you say?

Try as I might, I can't seem to open the up/download site. Am I missing something? or are the site down for a while?

Great initiative. Great idea.

Hi, This looks really promising,,,, I am having a problem. The tool appears to be changing articulations with the assigned "control keys" but I can't hear any difference. I tried to assign it to all midi channels as discribed in the installation pdf, but I can't find where to do it. Also. what is the "Opus Essentials" file that is not in the Opus Essential instruments folder?

Thanks in advance,

Barry

No one is allowed to upload samples from VSL for your information. Just instruments.

hi barry,
the midi channel parameter which you have to set to "All" is located in the instrument parameter box in the arrange window (maybe it is hidden and you either have to click on the small triangle to the left of the tracks column or activate the whole box in the view menu).
the opus essentials file is s preconfigured logic song, ready to play - i.e. all instruments are loaded and the channel parameters are already set.
