Yes that is true! At the moment you can purchase thr first four products for Halion and Kontakt:
Vienna Harp FX Percussion Glass & Stones Mallets
You can purchase these products as a Halion or Kontakt only version!

Will all the VSL libraries be available in a Kontakt version sometime in the foreseeable future? If so, when?
It always struck me as odd that a product would delimit itself to one PC-only version and one Logic-only version, whereas Kontakt will work with basically ALL the sequencers.
I'd like to go the Kontakt route because it seems about the best of the current crop of soft samplers, but would hate to feel the VSL would be unavailable to me unless I switched to Logic, which because I'm pretty bonded to DP4 I really would hate to have to do.

welcome vogelscheiss, yes, vsl libraries will become available in every format which meets the needs, though i hate to feel all those limitations are just generating more and more unhappy users (hey - who's able to load more than 2GB sample headers?), the sequencer is not the problem .... christian
and remember: a CRAY is the only computer that runs an endless loop in just four hours ...

But seriously - we had talks with NI already when Kontakt 1.0 appeared on the scene. Fact is that up to now important features for our Library weren't implemented. Things are getting better, though (... they are listening ;-] ...) Hope this explains the oddness a little bit. /Dietz - Vienna Symphonic LibraryPS: Nice screenhandle, BTW!

Thanks for your reply.
Well, of course you're right -- PCs account for 95% of computer users, though not an intimidating percentage of music power-users.
I have a fast 2.53 gHz PC and a dual 2 gHz G5, but the G5's all music and the PC all else. Presumably I could load Gigasampler on the PC and get a lightpipe interface or some such to bring the audio into the G5, but it would be awfully nice to do everything on the Mac, especially as making the PC Gigasampler-ready would involve loading it up with more RAM, upgrading the soundcard, watching out for all the registry relics and stuff running in the background etc. -- all of which by design the Mac already has.
Given that I'm trying to stay within the Mac, the lack of a viable option for VSL without switching sequencers is one of those nagging cross-platform cross-program irritations. Obviously not a thing that could be blamed on VSL.
It sounds like you're indicating that we might be able to expect a Kontakt version of the VSL libraries at some point in the not-too-distant future, once you've been able to coordinate with the NI programmers? I'd love to see that happen. Any sort of timeframe in mind? Thanks.

vogelscheiss, i love macs (and SGIs) simply because of there processor design and i'd work with them for all everyday's jobs if they were usabele simply as computers the g5's have been a lifesaver imo for apple regarding the music scene - video is already lost for them as we all know when it comes to sample libraries and especially VSL the point is the performance tool. whereas it seems to be possible to link it behind nuendo and cubase SX curently we'll have to find out how it would integrate in others or any sampler. it has to be stated clearly here that emagic was _the_ company who listened and opened an inteface within their application to integrate the perfomance tool. so the conclusion is: it's not the problem to create a kontakt or so version (we didn't find much which´wouldn't work the one or the other way) but to integrate the performance tool into this application for all platforms stay tuned ... christian
