Finally a new GUI and hopefully REAL Dual processor support ...
We can only hope it will become better than Logic 6....

... and hopefully an extended exs - there hasn't been an update for years!
the feature to control the volume of individual groups would be great in combination with the vsl and it shouldn't be a big deal to implement this - particularly compared to all these fancy new features. at the same time the buggy behaviour of some controller destinations (relative volume, ...) should be fixed (in combination with sources like velocity they produce only glitches).
with these enhancements one could finally build large programs with crossfades (and not only switches) between the different sampled versions within the vsl to control dynamics, vibrato, attack strength, ... in real time.
maybe someone in vienna has the connections to propose this to apple/emagic ...
cheers

Yeah a lot of work on the EXS needs to be done. But is this thread a LOGIC 7 wish list? If so, I think it would stretch to the MOON!!!
Can't wait for Logic 7! Yes!

Maybe now it'll be an Apple Macintosh application instead of an ATARI friggin port. I'd sure like to use all the conventional drag and drop functionality of a mac for track editing, creation, copying, dragging, etc.

i wouldn't dare to turn this thread into a wishlist ... but i have just found out that my keyboard can send a strange message named "program change" - any ideas what this is good for [ ] ?

Any chance this release will unlock access to more RAM? Or is that something that won't take place until Tiger is released?

Tiger releases more RAM to open applications. Beyond 2GB if they are 64-bit aware, as Logic has been for several versions already (Mine uses 3.5GB currently).

The screen dump doesn't show any interface changes, and I don't believe Logic is 64-bit aware - no offense to the esteemed EE - despite whatever seems to be going on to "contradict" what the guy who actually programmed EXS said to me.
While all of the above is coming sometime, that rumor also smells suspiciously like BS to me.
But I hope I'm wrong on all accounts, of course!

That rumor lines up with everything I've known and followed for over a year now. Although it MAY be BS, I am leaning towards believing it. I give it a 90% chance of truth.

And this is a rumor from the Digidesign User Conference, which I happened to skim today. I asked where this fellow heard it, and he said "a producer friend who's recently signed on as a Logic beta tester." In other words, don't take it too seriously - but I hope it's all true!
"This is gonna get really interesting now. Logic 7.0 apparently has a new feature which allows you to harness the native power of multiple computers at once via ethernet (without the hassle of running the app several times). This will give native users as much power as they want on demand. They also have a new beat detective type feature and audio warping facility (like Acid). But biggest of all is the rumour that Apple have DSP assisted hardware coming for Logic in Janurary. Apple in their wisdom have delayed Logic 7.0's release until October although it's been ready a while."

It's fun to guess, iMusic. Just out of interest, how do you know it's nonsense? Are you on the beta team? I also think it's nonsense, by the way, but I certainly have no way of knowing anything.
