  • Need feedback on a new piece

Any comments, tips, advice, etc would be most welcome.

The piece is called "March on Mordor" and was inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings

Instrumentation: Brass and Percussion (Opus 1)
    SIR reverb

    Here are excerpts...

    thanks

p.s. I know it says SoundsLike_HowardShore when it really doesn't - I just named the MP3 file that way so I would show up on Kazzaa and other places.

You may get more luck if you put it in the Orchestration section. [:)]

  • "I know it says SoundsLike_HowardShore when it really doesn't - I just named the MP3 file that way so I would show up on Kazzaa and other places."

...why would you want Howard Shore devotees to download a piece that doesnt sound like Howard Shore?

    Im confused.

  • Well anyway, it sounds like his score to LORD OF THE RINGS, but it doesn't sound like Howard Shore. So, even it's already way too confusing for any Howard Shore fan that's for sure.

Anyway, OBVIOUSLY, the reason to name it that way is to get some extra promotion going, get people coming who wanted to find Shore's work. For a while I had my profile on mp3.com as "Evan Evans - jerry Goldsmith Like Composer". i got a lot of attention, and utlimately people were quite excited to have found me. Fans love new music. They just do.
