That's good to hear.. I would expect that to be so if your VSL samples are stored on the boot drive and that's where you've switched off journaling. Is that the case? Otherwise it may be that this is a genuine way to improve disk streaming performance of EXS. I'm sure that most people store their VSL samples on a separate drive.

My EXS samples are on a separate drive - I will work with this for a while and see how it goes - I plan to do a major re-install in the next month or so in any case, so it's a good time to experiment. So far it seems to be OK.
