  • Static RAM approaches?

    $320, 16GB

It looks like this is happening pretty fast.

  • Limited write and read cycles... What would you use it for?

  • Limited read cycles? I didn't know that.

But I still like the idea you thought of a few years ago...

  • SDHC as based on flash technology wich has limited write-cycles by design (a good value is about 160.000 times), but not limited read-cycles. the major disadvantage of this format is the limitation to 32 GB by the specification and the built in DRM. the disadvantage of this specific model is 20 MB/s, whereas *normal* compactFlash devices go already up to 80 MB/s

what AFAIK is still missing for all flash devices is native sATA, because the interface is still IDE ... but i for myself would already be happy if i had received my 64 GB flash disk (ordered in march!)

  • March? [[:|]] That must've cost a fortune. And why such a delay?

  • it has been announced to cost EUR 600.- and something ... neither the device from PQI not from SanDisk nor any other vendor seems to have shipped to austria so far ... if it has even been shipped to somewhere - i'm starting to believe it has been shipped only to the photographer for a press release ... so far i have to consider it as vapourware.
