  • Route Instruments to different MIDI-Channels?

    Hello,

I bought the VSL Special Edition about 1 week ago.

Opening the VSL as an VST-Instrument in Cubase (SX 2) i was wondering how to route the different Instruments Loaded in the VSL User interface to the different MIDI Tracks in Cubase, so that i can control every Instrument on a different channel in the mixer (Using Reverb-Plug-Ins etc.).

Or is it necessary to open a new VST Instrument (of the VSL) for every of the Instruments i want to use in my arrangement? CanĀ“t imagine that. Anyway, opening the VSL only one time, thereĀ“s only one VST output-channel, no matter how many instruments iĀ“ve loaded in the User Interface.

Actually i know this is a very basic question, but i just canĀ“t find any answer in the tutorials...

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi friedrichandreas,

    and welcome [:)]

It is exactly the way you couldnĀ“t imagine, please open one Vienna Instrument instance for each instrument or section.

Our Video Tutorials will help a lot to understand the reason for this system - and its advantages.

Please also take a loo at our Special Edition Demo #1 Training Videos and download the project files to examine this demo!

    Best,

    Paul

  • I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago,  when I first loaded a "Preset" and saw all the diffeent patches I thought "We Need Multiple Midi Channels"...But afterworking with this library I am very happy with the way it works.  I use Matrices 99% of the time.  But..I still think Presets would benifit from multiple midi channels.  I don't see any practical way to use a Preset in a file.
