Hope someone can help me with some real-world advice here - I'm mid-project and constantly hitting the ceiling with a dual processor G5 trying to run several SE matrices. One of my gigastudios is finally dying and I need to get a good chunk of my Vienna library playing as VI on mac. I'm running Logic 7.2 (kept it old for the sake of stability), streaming video + running Stylus RMX, Atmospheres, Intakt (Perc Adventures 2).
So here's the question: can I solve my problem by upgrading to a macpro and running everything on that? And if so, what spec? Or would it be better to run Vienna as standalone on a seperate mac (or macs) - and if so, what specs?
Also, how smoothly is everything running in leapord? Is Logic 8 stable enough for film work yet? Are there Logic/VI/VE teething problems in Leopard?
