  • Special Edition Plus _ buy or subscription only

Is the Special Edition Plus only available via subscription? I have SE standard and extended and would like to know if the Special Edition Plus (with articulations not available in either the standard or extended edition) is only available as subscriiption, or can it be purchaed as a one time buy? I noticed on the VSL site that:

"These articulations are available neither in the Standard nor in the Extended Library of the Special Edition DVD Collection. Handpicked from the 800,000 samples of the Symphonic Cube, these articulations have been compiled exclusively for this subscription".

It would be great to be able to buy these rather than via subscription for some users.

Excuse my ignorance, but I will accept any help with pleasure and thanks.

    Leif

  • Hello Leif,

look more carefully at the products page and you shoud see somewhere in the upper right hand of the page (somewhere below "standard subscription" :

    "All 54 packages at once € 460"

This seems to be the global purchase in one go, for those who want everything right away.

    Hope it helps !

  • Thanks, I did see that but thought it may be all in one go for a month only subscription as the price appears to be around the same as all the instruments put together as a month subscription. If it is a one buy solution with all the extra articulations I believe all Vienna Special Edition users will have a field day. I hope this is the case!! Cheers Leif

  • I do agree that the discount for a one go purchase is not really incentive : €460 instead of €513.....

But see : the rate for subscription is roughly about 11% a year.

    Aren't you happy to save €53 ??

So, the scoop is, VSL is the 1st sample library developer to become at the same time a pawnbroker/moneylender/usurer (I wrote 3 words here for my meaning,  because as a non english speaking person,  I'm not too sure about the best/most diplomatic one for it, but I guess other people will understand what I try to say.....)

    And even more :

for people who already own a part of the library because they purchased the full product ( like chamber or solo strings for example, the rate goes up to 15%...)

Well this is biz'ness, I suppose..

I for one hope that VSL will revisit their download fee policy, :

    - to make one go purchase more incentive,

    - to make full libs users more enthusiastic...

Lender would be fine. Moneylender sounds old-fashioned, usurer is pretty much obsolete (although usurious is still current, and is used to describe severely expensive lending), and a pawnbroker doesn't lend money as such; instead, they give you money in return for some tangible item that they could potentially resell for noticeably more than they paid you for it, on the understanding that you alone can buy the item back within some period of time (such as a week or a month), and only have to pay a bit more than you were given.

    Does that help?

  •  Thanks a lot fcw,

I'm always pleased when having an opportunity to improve my english, so yes, I appreciate your short lesson ! [:)]
