  • Triggering the Xfade velocity wiht Logic 8

     Hey everyone,

Does anyone know how I can get the cross fading velocity envelope to work with Logic 8? I found the "expression" was on midi layer 11 (or something real close to that), but I can't seem to find the trigger envelope to change VSL's cross fading velocity layer. Expression works fine, but of course, doesn't change between the different velocity layers using VSL as an audio plug-in.Any help would be great.

    Hi skyler,

you can assign any MIDI Controler to the Vel Xfade Slider in the VI with a simple rightlick.

Please take a look at our Video Tutorials, especially "Velocity Xfade - on the fly".

    Best,

I can't give you specific details, because the studio is shut, but in the VI GUI there is (in one of the views) something in the top right called Map Control. Click on this and then you can assign any controller you like by number to velocity xFade.

Alternatively, in some sequencers you can just right click the xFade slider and then draw in the appropriate controller lane in the sequencer. I don't know if that works in Logic.

Hi there. Could you please clarify what parameter you want to fine tune using the piano roll feature? Are you referring to note velocity?
