  • VE random clicking noises?

    Hi VSL,
I'm running multiple VE instances on a Mac Pro Intel 8 core, 16 GB ram, Digital Performer 5.13, Sys 10.4.11.
At random intermittent times, VE starts rhythmic clicking noises. When it happens I have to go to VE, select Preferences and then close. Sometimes I have to reset preferences on all of my running VE instances individually before the clicking noises finally stop. After a short time it usually starts again, necessitating further VE preference resets. This isn't a ram issue because it happens even when I only use one VE instance. It happens even when I'm not triggering VE via midi. I don't think it's a sync clocking issue because my entire studio is synched via digital word clock from Aardsync II.

    It's very annoying.

Are others experiencing this problem? Anyone have a fix or better workaround than just resetting preferences each time it happens?
    Thanks,

  • Yes I have discovered something similar with the standalone version. I have just taken delivery of a Mac Pro (Jan 2008 model now running 10.5.2) and am moving all music production to that and will post about this and other "problems" in the next day or so. My cure for these rhythmic clicking noises is to stop and restart the ENGINE in the Stand Alone version.
