I currently have SE Std, DVD version and SE Std Plus, download version.

I would like to add Extended and Plus as a download.

Could I convert the DVD version to the download version to avoid having to keep

the duplicate content of the DVD version and the Download version of Extended?

Or is there another way to split up the DVD version into Standard and Extended?

  • Hi Pjak,

buy the extended content for your DVD standard library here:

    http://vsl.co.at/en/211/442/484/485/292.htm

You will get a code for your extended content, which is already waiting on your harddrive.

And for the Extended PLUS libraries you can buy the Extendeds here in the download product section:

    http://vsl.co.at/en/211/496/818/585.vsl

You will get access to the download content, it's the same procedure as for the  Standard PLUS libraries.

    Hello Herb,

I know I could just get the code for the Extended, but I would prefer the separate download version so that

I can split across multiple computers. At least my assumption was that I could do this with the download

version. If I just purchase the code for the Extended content that is included in the DVD version, can I still

use Standard on one computer and Extended on another one?

  • tried to download ext brass...

"sorry, error occured" with file "setup-SE_brass_extended07cab"

  • oops, sorry .... classic copy&paste error .... corrected now ... please revisit ...

  • you are a wizard, cm ;)

    works now... thx

  • In these extended sections, what are the specific performance repetitions available? e.g legato slow and fast, stac, spit, etc

  •  I still don't understand why app strings legato patches were not included.......and PLEASE understand that this is coming from a full-time composer who is NOT convinced by the demos and wants to try them out before investing in the app strings libraries.

Maybe they were included and NOT listed in the Sample Content page?

BTW, thanks SO much to Herb and the VSL team for the download products, I LOVE them.

  • I guess the Appassionata Strings in the VSL Vienna SE are more like a little "bonus teaser" and not supposed to be wider usable content like Solo, Chamber and Ensemble Strings. On http://vsl.co.at/en/211/442/484/485/292.htm they are also extra declared as "BONUS FILES".

  • Hello VSL Team, I have a question regarding your newsletter. It says the following: ""Registered users of any FIRST EDITION, PRO EDITION or HORIZON SERIES OPUS 1 sample library are eligible to purchase the corresponding Special Edition Extended Library (not PLUS Library) for the reduced upgrade price of only EUR 25."" So I own the Opus Bundle and I would like to buy the complete extended library just as your offer says for 25 Euros. When I go to the webstore the extended content is greyed out. I can not buy it Am I assuming that I need the standard content in order to download the extended? Also when I check the webstore, EACH package is 25 Euros. So it is actually 100 Euros if I buy all extended content? So I am a bit confused. Do I get the upgrade offer for 25 Euros when I actually own the Opus Bundle AND the Special Edition (Standard) (the newsletter doesn't say this. Also do I have to pay 25 Euros for EACH ensemble? (also not mentioned in your newsletter) Please, help me unknot my cerebral tissue :)

  • alex, basically you are right, but there are a few points to consider ...

the extended libraries are always an extension of the standard libraries of a collection (say Special Edition DVD) - both together result in the full library.

if you have registered opus and the Special Edition (DVD) standard you are eligible to purchase the Special Edition extended library for EUR 45.-, so it wouldn't make too much sense to purchase the extended libraries for the 4 sections (again considering a discount for a registered opus) for EUR 25.- each ....

on the other hand if you decide to go the *small route* and start with say the SE Strings standard library you can purchase the SE strings extended library (again considering a discount for your registered opus) for EUR 25.- - the result would be an SE strings full library.

  • Hey Christian, thanks for the explanation. I am truly far away from being the nitpicker, but to be honest, this should be mentioned in your newsletter. It just says I need to own Opus 1 (or any other of the previous orchestra libraries) in order to download the extended version for 25 Euros. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I just thought I could get my already available content from the Opus bundle to the new VI player for less than over 100 Euros :)

  • well, beeing not nitpicking too ...

    SE extended prerequisite

  • Oops, sorry of course, I should have read better. Thanks for removing the tomatoes sitting on my eyes :) I simply blame it on the time for now ;)

  • Hi, I own the entire Pro Edition, Opus 1, and the VI SE extended. I'm interested in the PLUS version of SE, but the web-shop says that the SE PLUS strings would cost me €330. a) that doesn't seem like a discounted price...? b) shouldn't the price be in Sterling as I'm based in the UK? Can I buy a dvd as opposed to a download?

  • a) There are no upgrade paths towards the PLUS libraries.
    b) The prices of our download products are only given in Euros – your credit card will be charged at the current exchange rate.
It's not official as of yet, but you'll be able to purchase the Special Edition PLUS as a DVD collection very soon ;-) And this will be offered at Sterling prices as well...
    Cheers, Martin

  • Okay so maybe the coffee hasn't hit yet but I am still confused about this. I have SE and SE Extended already. Am I required to re-buy these to get the PLUS articulation or can I just buy the PLUS articulations. The purchase page is unclear. Thanks Chris

no, and it is not clear to me what indicates it ...

you can decide to get SE PLUS standard only or standard + extended = full.

IMO it wouldn't make too much sense to purchase SE PLUS extended without having SE (without plus) extended ... but this might be a personal decision on a case by case basis ...
