  • Harp...single note performance repetitions?

Hi Herb, Vienna, Any chance of doing Perf-Repititions on the single Harp notes?.........repeating the same note on the harp produces a machine-gun effect.......To save memory when / if you do it, you could just sample perf-reps of the initial transients at all the different velocities, and use just 1 set of decays.......SvK

  • Anyone? SvK

  • "HA2_normal" patch offers 4 alternations on each key.

    Maybe this is helpful.

  • nice! SvK thanx. SvK

  • But remember (I'm speaking as a harpist here) that repeated single notes on harp are NOT very idiomatic to the instrument, and don't sound very good at a quick tempo. Just in case you were going for realism! Some composers think that quick repeated single notes on the harp will sound like the piano with the sustain pedal down. But instead it will sound VERY dry and somewhat plinky on a real harp, since one's plucking finger, in preparing to pluck the next note, always has make contact with the string (unlike the piano's hammer). This makes a much drier sound. Just for your information!
