I'm new to VSL and in perusing this forum I noticed the controversy over the change in the upgrade policy. So on a similar topic I was wondering why the music software industry does not take a lesson from the software development industry. In both, there is a large investment in a fast moving technology and the community is relatively small but motivated to stay up on the latest developments. The vendor needs funds for further development and the user needs comfort, stability and utility. The software development industry went with yearly subscriptions; why wouldn't that work in the music software industry?
