VI Library Update

 As an absolute VI Virgin, I am finding the whole VSL thing awesome but massively confusing. Let's start with Library Updates! I have downloded the latest Library Update (080410) for OS X. When I open this a message says "run Directory Manager now and add ALL installed Vienna Instruments content to the list..." Well, when I open Directory Manager it already lists the instruments I have - do I need to do anything else, or can I just click "OK" to start the update?

I shook my head at that prompt too.  It doesn't make any sense at all.

It just means the directory manager must list the library you intend to update. If its already there you can continue without any problem.
