When I close Nuendo, VSLdeamon is still running, and if I relaunch Nuendo without killing VSLdeamon first it crashes.
Why?

i'd think the question was more to which nuendo version ... we couldn't notice such a behaviour here with N3 or N4 latest versions.
the vsldaemon always keeps running, even after the stand-alone player or audio host has been closed (quit)

Hi,
Although I lurk alot on this forum, I don't usually post. I thought it might be worth saying though that I also have this problem on my PC running WinXP Pro, but with Cubase 4.1.3. If the VSLdaemon is running before I launch Cubase, then Cubase will crash out, even before a I open a project. Killing the process before running Cubase means that it works fine. I forgot to say that I am running the latest version of VI. It has not always been like this, but unfortunately I cannot say whether the problem started with an update to Cubase or a particular update of the VI.
I hope that hasn't muddied the water!

Hi everybody,
sorry for the delay. We tried to replicate this behaviour, but had no luck. Please send crash logs to support@vsl.co.at, this will help our development team to find out more. So far, with all the crashlogs we have that showed a similar behaviour, it was not the VI that was crashing, but other applications...
I´m sure we can fix this, thanks for your help and patience!
Best,
Paul
Hi DG,
yes, a report would be very helpful, along with crashlogs, if possible (unortunately nobody else responded to my last post)!
Please send them to support@vsl.co.a, we´ll see what we can do about it!
Blueshift, that´s also an interesting observation.... anybody else experiencing the same?
Best,
Paul

Paul, I'll sort that out tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the problem on my system is caused by Vienna Ensemble Service. as simple as that...!
