  • Power Velocity Control (PVC): potential feature request

After tinkering around with a few 3D instrument matrices, I had some thoughts about how one could possibly increase the flexibility of VSL even further.

    Here's an example to illustrate:

One column is set up with string patches: sustains in 1A, fortepiano in 1B and sforzato in 1C.
    V-SPAN is set to velocity.

Any thoughts on the viability/usability of this?

  • Hi again. I have been having some further thoughts in this department.

Additional control in the above velocity FR could include the option of reordering segments, for whatever reason (e.g. allowing the splicing of alternating patches along the velocity spectrum), and the ability to fine-tune overlapping zones where more than one patch will sound, with or without crossfading.

Which brings me to my second point: velocity semi-crossfade. This halfway option means the initial velocity of each note is dictated by the note-on attack, but quickly resetting (possibly with user-determined shape and speed) to the governing MIDI controller data afterwards.

    Any takers?
