    I can't seem to get VI or VE to load any actual samples to play. I was creating a matrix and the first four cells loaded fine. I went to load the fifth cell, and while it says the patch I dragged there is loaded, no sound is emitted when that cell is switched on. The other cells work fine.

    I tried creating a fresh instrument, and now nothing will load in it either. The name is visible in the cell window, but sample management says that 0 samples are loaded and 0 MB memory is used.

    This happened to me once before, and some combination of removing/re-inserting my ViennaKey, rebooting and running the directory manager fixed it, but now that's not doing it.

    I tried loading a matrix that I had built already, and that worked, but now I cannot get patches to load again. Is this a known issue? Any quick fix?!? i'm on a mac pro 8 core with 10.5.3 and 16 GB RAM.

    Hi John,

    - please make sure that you have the latest versions of Vienna Instruments Software Vienna Instruments Software 2.0.3173 and LCC 5.4.2.2 installed! (It is recommended to restart your computer before installing any updates).

    - launch License Control Center to see if all your licenses show up

    - open then Vienna Instruments Directory Manager and remove all content folders from your Directory Manager and add them again by Drag & Drop, please also redefine your Custom Data folder in Directory Manager

    OK - did all the above and it's still not working. I can't load any sounds!!

    This is a big problem as I'm starting on a new project today and now I have to figure this out, or do it w/o VSL. argh.

    Have you accidentally optimized all the samples away? If so, even if you then drag a new patch into am optimized cell I think you still have to reload it again to get the samples loaded. Am I making sense? I might be - I'm not 100% sure TBH

    OK - I think I tracked the problem down to a few buggy patches/instruments. When I tried to load these, the whole enchilada (that's the entire library) would stop working until I reloaded everything in the directory manager, then stop again when I tried to load the aforementioned patches.

    I reinstalled this part of the content, and it seems to be working now...fingers crossed!!

    This is the first time I had tried to use these instruments, so maybe something was corrupt with the inital install. 



    hopefully it's fixed now for good.
