I just bought Horizon Series Chamber Strings, installed it and registered it in the Kontakt 2 format so that I could download the Kontakt instruments.  I'm currently running Kontakt 3 on a dedicated Mac Pro computer that I use for running samples.

When I try to load the Chamber Strings instruments into Kontakt 3 on my Mac Pro, I keep getting an error message that says that certain WAV files in the instrument (not all of them, just some) are in an unsupported format, and asks me if I would like to continue loading anyway.  I can load the instrument after this message, but the instrument behaves erratically (long notes are cut short, mod wheel turns notes off when it shouldn't).  Other times when I attempt to load instruments, the attempt crashes Kontakt 3 altogether, and I have to reboot.

I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.4.9, on a 2 X 3 GHZ Dual Core Intel Xeon with 5 Gigs of RAM.

Do I need to download another version of the instruments?  It seems like the version I got is buggy.  Has anyone else ever had this problem, and if so, what did you do to resolve it?

Here's the exact error message I'm getting:

 Kontakt 3

ERROR: could not load sample (unsupported format feature)

Continue loading?

Sheemish, with Kontakt both informations are seperated - tha mapping (programs) and the sample data (wave file).

according to your post the error message says: ERROR: could not load sample (unsupported format feature)

this would indicate a format feature of the wave file not beeing recognized, which is basically in a RIFF format and does not contain any special format features (like proprietary chunks, ect)

please open the VA-5_02leg_p_6-up_D#4.wav in some wave-editor of your choice and save it again - better: rename it first to VA-5_02leg_p_6-up_D#4.old.wav, then open it and save it as VA-5_02leg_p_6-up_D#4.wav again - then reload the program referring to this sample.

another possibility: it got corrupted during extraction or some copy process ... you can restore it from the DVD again (my recommendation would be to use UnrarX on a mac and not stuffit ...)

and remember: a CRAY is the only computer that runs an endless loop in just four hours ...
