  • VE3 license trouble

    Hi,
I´m trying out the VE3 software and ran into various glitches:

1 Master Mac, 2 Slave Macs.

On both slave Macs the VE Server does not boot, because  "Der Lizenzaktivierungsschlüssel wurder schon benutzt". Ok, I´ve downloaded a second Demo key, now VE server runs on the 2nd Mac, but downloading a third key from the Vienna website is prohibited. So 3rd Mac is a No Show.

I can access the 2nd Mac from within Logic, but starting VE Server on my master Mac gives me an endless "Scanning for licenses" on it´s UI.

I´ve run theVE Directory Manager on the 2nd Mac, but still no Presets and Patches are showing up in the VI UI. And what is a bit, ahm terrible is that the VI also have no presets and patches any more.....

Can somebody point me in the right direction? I only have a few days between projects and want to get this going.

    All the best,

    Jochen

  • Just two questions

    1. Do you have a licence for VE3 on the DAW?
    2. Did you uninstall VE2 before you installed VE3?

If the answer to either of these is no, then that could well be one of your problems.

  • Hi,

no. The answer to both questions is yes. ;-)
    I´ve also uninstalled VE2 on the 2 slave Mac´s.

Meanwhile, I´ve reinstalled VI on my master Mac and can now use VE3 on it. (After launching the stand alone VI once)

Mac #3 is still stuck at wanting a new license number - and rejecting the VE3 number from the master VE3.

    All the best,

    Jochen

  • Just to be clear: The license on all Macs is still a demo license. (that is, two different demo licenses)

I´d really like to test all this (Ethernet load, etc), before I change my setup with Logic as VSL host on all Macs.

  • I can't really help you with your problem, but if you only have two licences then there will always be one computer that can't run VE3. If it is the DAW, then you will have to run VI instead, as you can't have VE2 and VE3 on the same computer. If it is a slave, then you can connect via your usual hardware system, whatever that is.
