    First of all the pricing and articulations look good! Thanks.

    So, are the new instruments chromatically sampled? This is important to me because I already have the Standard Edition of Special Woodwinds which is chromatic. I wouldn't want to "overwrite" those programmes with whole-tone sampled versions.

    Are the "trills" mention in the contents list performance trills? I hope so.

    Good luck with it, VSL! I'm looking forward to purchasing as soon as they are available, and I hope "extended" versions will be made available as soon as possible.

    "Trills whole and half tone" indicates that they are actual trills played with those intervals, as opposed to the 'performance trills' patches where you play your own.

    That would be a little disappointing if true. Perhaps someone from VSL could clarify.

    With respect, it doesn't need clarifying - the description 'Trills half and whole tone' I've seen listed in the sample content of the download instruments is unambiguous and can only refer to real played trills of those intervals. 'Performance trills' (i.e. samples opimized for playing your own trills) are not listed, but I guess they might be added later . . . then agan, VSL might prefer not to sell them separately. I'm sure there will be a lot of discussion here on what styles and instruments should be included in the downloads![:)]

    Thank you. I don't like splitting hairs, but a little clarification would actually be welcome.

    For example, the upcoming contrabass clarinet download includes minor and major 2nd trills, but the DVD version features Performance Trills from minor 2nd to major 3rd. So either the new downloadable instrument contains newly recorded content of live trills, or preset recordings of the Performance Trill being played, or it IS indeed the Performance Trill patch limited up to a major 2nd. You see?

    I'm curious.

    here is the clarification: Conquer is absolutely right, half- and whole tone trills are recorded trills, NOT Performance Trills.

    Now there's a first. Thanks for the confirmation, but Heathcliff has a point - the Special Woodwinds DVD contains no contrabass clarinet live trills, so maybe the half and whole tone trills listed in that instrument's download sample content are new samples? Either that, or it's a typo . . . I'm sure all will be revealed before long.[;)]
