  • Logic And Vienna Instrument Interface Window

Hi, Whenever I bring up the interface of a Vienna Instrument in Logic Pro The Vienna Instrument interface takes over and makes the arrange page inactive. So then every-time I want to hit the space bar to begin playing my arrangement in logic I first have to grab the mouse and make the arrange page active again by clicking on it. I have never noticed other plug ins within Logic behave this way when instantiated. Am I doing something wrong or Is there a way to change a setting to deal with this issue? Thanks So Much, Dave

  • Hello, I am afraid that this is normal behaviour - the same in Logic and DP. As VI is a client-server plugin (the engine running in background and the plugin only calls the interface as it seems) opening the UI leaves Logic and therefore key commands do no longer reach Logic. The advantage of this design is that all VI instances share memory and therefore samples get not loaded twice etc. hope that helps

  • I think VSL programmers can give us the option to keep the interface window as top most window and the keep the focus to Logic or DP main window. Assuming they are using Microsoft C++, the TOP_MOST window style could be added to the window styles.

What I use now is to keep VSL UI in the second monitor, but still I need to click inside Logic to activate it.
