I just purchased the Special Edition and also use Kontakt 3.  It seems after perusing here that I can integrate the two?  Is that correct? If so how do I do this? Can someone point me to the right section?

The Special Edition runs in its own VST, and it's files cannot be opened with or played by Kontakt or any other sampler.

You're better off anyway, the VI is a much easier way of doing things.

I'm also a kontakt user. i'm looking to buy the vienna special addition. on a scale of 1 to 10 (being best) how would you rate the two as far as sound quality and playability? is vienna special addition THAT much better than Kontakt?

thanks in advance

The Vienna Special Edition is a sample library that runs on the Vienna Instruments interface which comes with it. As RM points out in the previous post it a lot simpler to use than Kontakt. As for sound quality, you should have nothing to complain about. Suggest you listen to the demos that are provided on this site.. Colin..

The sounds in the Special Edition are far far superior to anything on Kontakt.  I would rate it at the least about a 15.
