  • CC 11 and CC 7 with Vienna Ensemble

    Hello

I am a new user with VSL

Being a QLSO/K2/Logic user we had to convert CC 7 (Volume) to CC 11 (Expression); do you have to do that too with Vienna Ensemble ?

I have to add that I use VE in standalone, Logic sends Midi thru IAC
Thanks in advance for your help

  • I'm sure that some Logic users will chime in with details, but basically you can do what you like with VE. The snag is that with Logic you can't. With a multitimbral sample player Logic can't split the Volume (CC7) information up per MIDI channel, so many users use Expression instead. There is a way of using both, but that is beyond my expertise, as I don't use Logic.

    DG

  • DG is correct. I get around this by assigning Volume to a different, unused CC in every instrument within VE.

Why Logic can't fix this issue is completely beyond me. How is it that a modern, popular sequencer has such an enormous flaw?? Very frustrating.

If you have a VE and you use IAC to control it you dont have the CC 7 problem !

I thing I dont understand is why the VE does not show the volume changes !

Does the VE has 2 volume ? 3 volumes !!!!
