    Hi! There,

    I am sick to death trying to figure out whats going on with my new RME Fireface 800.

    I was using RME HDSP 9652 till now on a machine with following specs:

    Intel Core 2 Quad, 8 GB 667 Mhz Corsair Value Select Ram, Windows XP 64, Cubase 4, 5 HDD's 7200 RPM WD. ASUS P5K Deluxe Motherboard.

    I got a RME Fireface 800 recently and replaced the HDSP ADAT Soundcard.

    Now I am suddenly in Hell - I am getting ASIO Meter MASSIVE spikes - unexpected Digital Sound Bursts, Weird MIDI latency at times, MIDI dropping out - CPU meter in Cubase just spikes like crazy to the max suddenly from 30% to 100% and all sound is distorted. Buffer is set to 512 - but it does the same at 768 and even 1024. Basically - sometimes its working all right for a while - and then suddenly I will get all kinds of Digital bursts and problems mentioned above. And its unexpected - some seriously loud bursts continiously - I then need to quit Cubase and restart.

    I am using the latest RME Driver - And the latest Firmware upgrade - All drivers are up to date. My Firewire port is perfectly all right - I plugged in a WD External Drive to test and it works fine.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

     I have a FF800 and basically the same PC hardware.

    I've been using Reaper (the best DAW out there, IMO) and I have ZERO problems to report! [:D]

    There is no problem with Cubase 32bit and XP64, so you can rule that out of the equation.

    Other than that, I can't help I'm afraid.
