Hi there,

i am a fairly new VSL SE user (1 year and counting!!!!). I recently invested some money in a new imac with 4 gb of Ram, 250 gb HD and 2.4 Ghz processor with Logic Pro 8 DAW installed. i am wondering what is the absolute best Audio interface and midi keyboard to use with the mac environment considering i have between 1000.00 and 1500.00 to spend? Any advice from seasoned professionals is much appreciated.....

If you're using Logic, then you could try an Apogee Audio Interface, and for the keyborad, you don't have to spend THAT much money i think. Try CME UF line (the UF 88 is pretty nice). They great thing about CME controllers is that they offer a "breath controller" input, very useful for VSL orchestrations (i'm going to buy a CME UF 60 next week i think)

I'd steer clear of CME if I were you - the after-sales support is just awful. While it's true that they're good value for money remember you get what you pay for!

I own a UF8 and if, at the time I'd bought it, I knew what I know now I'd have gone for a Fatar. My advice would be to head to your nearest retailer for these things and try a few out to see if you like the feel of them.
