  • VSL Podcast - Show 52 (Joel Goldsmith Part II)

Hi everyone. Been a long time since I was able to sit down and do the podcast but I finally got round to doing it. Also got approval from Joel to publish the 2nd part of the interview. So I'm now in Canada and working hard on some music projects. I show a couple of pieces from my new Starship Farragut project that uses some new Logic templates (Including my long overdue TODD AO template), so you can hear how they're coming along. I've had many requests to put chapter markers in the show and in order to do this one has to publish the file as an .m4a (or AAC) file. So show 52 is done as an .m4a file which everyone should be able to view in this day in age. You prolly need the quicktime codec for windows but it is very easy to get. So let me know if this is better and what you think. . So, I hope you all enjoy the show and Joels interview. Again sorry for the long delay in producing the show but moving continents is certainly not an easy thing :D Heto.

hi heto, great to hear you managed to continue the podcast series ... not sure if my new polk-audio subwoofer is responsible for the better audio quality or the aac format 😉 - however, winamp plays it fine without the need of any additional codecs ...

just noticed you're also working on a new CD - all the best with your new projects and keep up the good work

  • Great show like always. Man he has a mean setup. Some of the stuff I never heard of before. But i will keep writing. Thanks again for great podcast.

  • Great show, as always, Hetoreyn. It made me newly appreciate Joel Goldsmith's music. Then I went to his website to see his very nice studio. He seems very well grounded on the ups and downs of the film music business. Please keep the shows coming. And welcome to North America!

  • Hey Guys, Glad you're all enjoying the show still. I'm yet again out of internet contact for the next week or so .. so my apologies to those who are currently trying to contact me via e-mail I will respond shortly I just need to wait for my internet connection to arrive at my new home. . Thanks Christian for the comments about the .m4a (aac) file format. I wasn't sure if some people might have problems with it as it's more an apple file format but as you say it does improve the audio quality and of course it allows the addition of chapter markers, which are very useful, and artwork .. also links to relevant websites. . More stuff coming up soon once I'm settled. Getting to Canada was one thing but setting up a whole new home is something else :D Thanks all for listening .. Heto
