I've just updated my Vienna Instruments player to the latest release and I find that navigating the player in Logic 8.0.2 is now much clunkier and slower than before! Anyone else having this problem?

Hi, do you want to give us some details about your system? And maybe some numbers... Best, Paul

Ok, just to clarify it's only the operation of the user interface that is more sluggish, not playback! System: 2.8Ghz 8 core Mac Pro - (early 2008) 10GB RAM Latest Leopard and Logic builds Apogee Firewire interface Separate Hard drives for samples and logic project files

Hi, we didn´t see that here so far. What exactly are the differences? The more information, the better we know what we should look for! Best, Paul

bobulusbillman I agree, Ok, I'm working on a old mac G5 dual 2.7 8G ram but... Yes the vi/ve user interface is really slower than earlier... It is about the right side, All list under Matrix, Preset, Patch assign are slower to display. When you click on +/- sing it took at least 1/2 of second to open or close a list.. Also when clicking on a patch name (Preset, Matrix) it took more tha 1/2 a second, may be 1 second to highlight... Under Perform / Map control the CC window's slider bar is not working properly it is not possible to drag completely up or down... Voilà Those problems appeared with v. 3452 Hope to help Thanks

An XP64 report on two Intel Dual 2.66's (8 gigs ram) outboard slaves (DAW is G5 Dual 2.7 running DP) 3452 is crashing much more often on my 64 bit windows machines than any earlier versions (no Big Bangs though.) Not crashing on 32 bit XP running 3 gig switch. Hope it's okay to post here since it's the new version of VE2 and you need feedback.

Yes Migot! That's exactly it - right side, navigation; frustratingly slow! Glad I'm not alone with these issues!

I'm having the same problem. After installing the latest version (Feb, 2009), the interface responds slower. After clicking on the navigation folders, the + buttons, or when dragging patches into matrices, there is a noticeably longer pppppppppp-aaaaaaaaaa-uuuuuuuuuu-ssssssssss-eeeeeeeeee (pause). I'm using a 1.83 GHz iMac Intel Core Duo, 2 GB RAM. Thanks for listening.

Same issue here, although no crashes (thankfully). File search/locate is slower in both Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.6. (Mac Pro 1x Quad 3Ghz, 8GB), Logic 8.02 and Digital Performer 5.13 and 6.02. Also, just moving the window around is strange-- when first dragging the window, it doesn't follow the mouse very smoothly, but instead it "snaps" suddenly to a new position. From there it seems to move as normal (until the next time it needs to be moved).

I'm curious as well. I have to say I sometimes find myself avoiding VE on projects lately because that bug is annoying

Hi, we´re focussing on the Frankfurt Musikmesse that is around the corner. This bug will be adressed with the next update of the Vienna Ensemble, but I cannot give you a timeframe for it right now, sorry to say. Best, Paul

Hi, I wonder if you can assist. I have just taken delivery of a new Mac ProDual 2.93 GHz 8 core with 12 GIG ram, to replace my previous mac Pro Dual with 2.6ghz. While I love the VI sounds, I am concerned at the difficulties with the GUI (not being able to see the contols while recording in Logic Studio). My question is this, would it be better to connect the old Mac Pro by firewire as a slave, or move the dedicated drive of VI samples on the old machine into the new one? I too have noticed a considerable timing gap when trying to open the different levels of the GUI. Best regards, Roy Roy
