• MusikMesse

So MusikMesse is in two weeks - what can we expect from VSL?

    MIR is shipping

New 64 bit Reverb for VS

    VSL Choirs shipping Q3

VSL Ethnic Strings Vol 1, Q2

VSL Ethnic Pipes Vol 1, Q3

    (Well we can dream [:D])

  • I'd be very happy to see VE3.1 (which keeps common samples in RAM when loading projects AND hosts third party VSTi's).

    [;)]

    It's a nice dream...

    M

  • Yes I agree,

actually this was promised to us 3rd quarter of 2008 already.

Please VSL- Team-don´t let us dream any longer!!!

    Cheers Oliver

  • Well it starts tomorrow - is anyone going?  I can't get there this year.  If anyone goes how about posting up some preview info from the VSL chaps (and anything else that is interesting).

Of course I'm not going to believe anything I read till after mid day as it's April Fools tomorrow ;-)

    Best

    Tim

  • Last year, Moog announced the Moog Guitar on 1 April and everyone thought it was a joke -- it wasn't!

In this economy especially, company's can't afford to delay product announcements just because of the inconvenience of April Fool's Day.

  • Just noticed on the homepage - VE Pro and Vienna Suite 1.1 are announced...

... and VE Pro has 3rd party hosting and keeps samples in RAM!!!

Congratulations and thanks to the VSL team on getting this done - I can't wait to try it out!

    Martin

P.S. - I should also say that I'm praying that this isn't some April Fool's gag...

  • Yup - I noticed too.  Excellent news chaps.  Any chance of a large screen shot of the conv reverb and any further info around which "spaces" it will include!

Also, and it's probably me being thick but what does "True Stereo 4 channel processing"  really mean?  I thought Stereo was 2 channels?

TIA - looking forward to the udpates

    Tim

  •  Vienna Ensemble PRO. I'm moist.....!

  •  I am also excited about the reverb plug-in!  I am happy they are giving us some time to use it before the price goes up as well.  I currently use Logics SoundDesigner so I can't wait to see how this compares.

Also can't wait to hear this piano!  I would be happy with just audio demo's to get a feel for it's sound.  And this VE3 Pro is a godsend!  I love you guys for fixing this memory issue!  That will be the first thing I download as soon as it's released.  The only other thing I can see I would love is for VE3 PRO to also have a "master learn" function so that it initiates the learn function on ALL instruments with one click.  Between those two options it will really speed up my work as well as give me more room for running more plugs (and instruments)!  Most of the time when I have 3-4 VE3's loaded, I get to lazy to go click on learn for all of them so I just do without.  One master button (even if it was one per VE3 Instance) would really be beneficial.

  • VE pro is a godsend. Right now my biggest bottle necks are host related. Hope they release it soon.

  • Most awesome. VSL does it again!

I really like the vst hosting in VE Pro. WIll it support patch formats like *.nki?

I'm assuming that it would actually host the sample player, so it doesn't have to support and patches, because you don't load patches in VE, only in VI.

  • Hi DG,

    Just curious,

You have such a respected presence on the VSL site and can always answer all questions from conducting to sequencers to VSL etc. I would love to hear some of your compositions using VSL.

    Cheers,

    Leif

Nah, you'd be disappointed. However, if you're desperate, you could always try here.

  • DG's music is the real deal - project after project.  I'd also like to thank him publicly for sharing his wealth of knowledge all things music / VSL.

    1. This statement is not entirely accurate.  Should you have nothing better to do with the next 15 months, then you could trawl through each one of his paltry 4010 posts (to date) wherein you shall discover several replies that he fluffed. Badly.  Some of the more difficult questions that have been posted on this forum have stumped him into silence. These prolonged silences can only be explained by the emptying and subsequent re-stocking of his drinks cabinet.

    2. Conducting? Sequencers? VSL?  Not exactly Quantum Physics. Is it?  Hasn't answered one solitary question posted on this forum relating to Quantum Physics.

3.(UK + IRE ONLY) Even if the above statement is true, I'll bet he can't stick a Rowntree's Fruit Pastille in his mouth without chewing it.

    4. Looks a lot lot younger in his videos than I'd imagined, and he still didn't get a snog!

Too much hero worshipping going on around here at the moment.[:D]

I've got a problem with my sense of humour. WHAT CHOIRS? Hey, you don't joke like that when it comes to VSL, man. People may have a nervous breakdown anticipating something they are badly in need of. Speaking of choirs, I would be pretty much satisfied with the same articulations as in Sopranos, should VSL decide to record Altos, Tenors and Basses in the same way. Any word building capabilities of other libs sound downright awful and unnatural to me as of now, so just pure "AH's and OH's and their usual articulations plus the fabulous VSL legato would be sufficient for me.
