  • Saving in Logic while playing cuts off sustained VSL Ensemble instruments

Just wondering if anyone can replicate this, or has a workaround. Basically, any sustained notes that are playing in Logic will be cut off if I hit apple+S to save, which I do like a nervous tick. It slows me down a lot because I have to stop and start in Logic to get the sustained notes to chase again. Can anyone confirm this behavior? Mac Pro Quad 2.66, Logic 8.0.1, OS X 10.4.11

  • I just happened to be working on an orchestration when I read this.  I confirmed it does exactly what you said.  The moment I hit Apple + S it killed all my sound until the next midi signal was sent to the DAW.  No idea of a work around for you but figured I would tell you it's not just your rig.

The system would definitely need resources to save the file and perhaps it kills it to get an accurate file save (as opposed to an open file save copy).  Not sure though I am purely speculating.

  • Thanks for the confirmation. Hopefully someone from VSL will chime in.

  • Hello,

I can confirm this behaviour, and I hope we can fix it with the next update.

  • Thank you, Paul. The communication between the VSL team and it's users is really great. Unparalleled with any other software developer I've dealt with. Makes me feel very good about my investment, and interested in investing further. Keep up the good work, VSL!
