  • Vienna Suite "Installation Failed"

    Hi I'm installing the latest update to Vienna Suite, and the installer quits at the end, saying: "Installation Failed" "The following install step failed: run preflight script for Vienna Suite Contact the software manufacturer for assistance" This has happened before, can't remember what I did (I think I installed older version). Any ideas?

  • bduffy,

    looks like a part of the installation does not work for you, might be caused by improper permissions on installed files, and may be helped by repairing permissions before rerunning the installer.

  •  Hi,

    I'm also having problems with installation/updating Vienna suite. Every plug-in except the convolution reverb installs normally. The first time I tried to install an error dialogue box popped up, so I uninstalled and re-installed the software. Everything seemed to install normally this time, only there was no sign of the reverb. When trying to scan for plug-ins in Vienna Ensemble I get this...

    @0 1 0">@0 0 1">@0 1 0">@0 0 1">@0 1 0">@0 0 1">

    (I tried there to inert a screen grab of the error dialogue)

    The error message reads:

    "Assertion Failed!

    Program:......

    File:, \Decorelator.cpp

    Line: 23

    Expression: IppStatus ==IppStsNoErr

    For information on how your programme can cause an assertion

    failure, see the visual C++ documentation on asserts

    (Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled)

    ABORT RETRY IGNORE"

    I should point out that on my two slave machines Vienna Suite installs/updates without any problems at all and runs as normal, including the new reverb. Any thoughts?

    Thank you,

    Alistair

  • Alistair, you don't say what your computer is, which could be crucial? Are you by any chance on a PPC Mac? If so, then you can't run the reverb anyway.

  •  All three machines are PC, the two slaves having Intel chips, and the main machine being an AMD chip.

    Thanks for the replacement file, it solved the problem, and the reverb is now running (and sounding) perfectly. [:)]

    Best Regards,

    Alistair

  • There is now an update (v1.1.1316) in the user area, which fixes the compatibility issue with AMD cpu's.
